Bryn Gwlad Baronial Championship

to be held in the glorious Barony of Bryn Gwlad on October 11-13, 2002 to determine this year’s Baronial

Other wonderous events will include a Brewer’s Tasting, Equestrian IKEC practice, an Equestrian Quest, an Arts and Sciences Display, a solar for the Ladies, various Children’s activities including Youth Rapier, Youth Chivalric, Youth Archery lists and a Youth A&S display. Feasters will be entertained by an Armor Fashion show. Bards from all over the Known World are invited to participate in a Bardic Circle hosted by His Excellency on Saturday night. There will be a hafla on Friday night and a party on the ship on Saturday night after the Bardic Circle. On Sunday Duke Kein will be hosting melees! Participate in ship battles on a real wooden ship! Merchants are invited to sell their wares at the event. There will be no merchant fee (site fee will apply), so please come and enjoy yourselves. If you wish to have merchant space, please contact Lady Pegasus at laurieNOSPAMpolyhedrongroup.com.

There will be a delectable feast prepared by Sigerith d’Aiencort. The feast will include Manchets, Sallad with Pickled Quail Eggs, Farced Quail with Yellow Peppersauce, Alloes of Beef with Strong Mustard, Bohemian Peas, Buttered Warts, Genovese Tarts, and Almond Pudding with Comfits. Only 100 feast reservations are available. Please contact the Event Steward (phone below) to make feast reservations. Please bring your own table and chairs for the feast. Feast Menu Details

Site Fees: $7 ($6 for SCA members), Children 5-12 will be $4 and Children under 5 are free. There will be a $22 per family maximum. Feast Fee: $7. Make all checks payable to “SCA Inc/Barony of Bryn Gwlad”.

The site will open at 5pm on Friday Oct 11 and close at 3pm on Sunday Oct 13th. Ground fires will be allowed at the discretion of the Event Steward. Site is wet, please keep drinks in period containers. The site is primitive but there is some running water and there will be cold showers available.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Minors may also attend with a 21-year or older adult with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from the parent. Pets are welcome and must have current rabies vaccination documents (tags alone are not accepted). Leashes will be required. Horses must have proof of negative Coggins test.

The site is located at the construction property at the end of Bridge Point Rd in Austin, Texas.

Directions: Take your best route to Hwy 360 and Hwy 2222 in Austin. Go west on Hwy 2222 from Hwy 360 (away from Austin). Turn left at City Park Rd (first light). Turn left at top of hill on to Bridge Point. Turn right at dead end (only turn). Pass through barricades and follow road to event site. There will also be SCA signs to help direct you.
