From the North Austin area, travel North on Hwy 183 to Cedar
Park.
Take a left, going West on FM 1431. After you pass by the signs
for the
town of Smithwick and a little after the entrance to Camp Piniel
look for
FM341 on the right(signs point to Sycamore Falls Estates), this
is just
after the creek(Sycamore Creek). Turn right, North onto FM341
and follow the
road for about 3/4 mile to the Green Iron gated entrance to
Sycamore Falls
Estates. It is about 64 miles from downtown Austin to Marble
Falls on this route.
From the South Austin area, take Hwy 71 out of Austin, through
Oak Hill,
going roughly West North West. Turn Right, North onto HWY 281 and
follow that
into Marble Falls. Turn right onto FM1431 (follow the signs for
the high school).
About 6 miles out of town, turn left onto FM341(signs point to
Sycamore Falls
Estates)and follow the road for about 3/4 mile to the Green Iron
gated entrance
to Sycamore Falls Estates. It is about 51 miles from downtown
Austin to Marble
Falls on this route.
At the gate, enter the code number to the gate as #xxxx.

Enter the gate and
follow the paved road. Do not take any turns but follow as it
winds around.
At the end of the pavement, follow the gravel road uphill. The
road ends at a green
painted gate and cattle guard. Do not cross the cattle guard.
Turn right onto
the dirt road and follow it until you see the group and the
Academy set up. If
you get to the big white metal barn you have just passed us. If
you do not see
us, check in the barn. We will try to have signs posted along the
way.

Things to know about the site:
The roads to the site are Farm-to-Market Roads and small County
Roads. Cattle
and Deer often wander the roads and the locals drive in the
center.
After you enter the green iron gate the road is small and winding with sharp or
sudden turns that are not marked. Do not drive faster than about 25mph, really.
Drive carefully!
The site is primitive however, we have a water faucet for well
water. Wear
good shoes. Be prepared for weeds and rocks and look out for
cactus. Most areas
we will use are nicely clear of most nasties but do watch for
them anyway. Watch
for ants, fireants, snakes, scorpions and stickerburs. We have
rarely had problems
with any of these but they are present.
There is a pond. Swim at your own risk; watch your children.
You may fish if
you wish. The pond has perch and bass and some catfish.
